Bio

Rayen Acevedo Fonseca is a Chilean Social worker. She has a Ph D in Social work of the International University for graduate studies; she received with honors from the university. Throughout his life, she has done many important investigations; her publications have been a great contribution to social problems.

Rayen is an administrator of an NGO, which aimed at children and young people; this NGO helps them fulfill their dreams and goals. She received a Nobel peace prize. Rayen has a great passion for teaching; she is a professor of social research methodology and musical theory at the University of Chile.

Rayen is a great pianist and composer, her compositions have been highly praised for his melody and that's why she won a Grammy. She teaches music theory and how to play piano for free for children; she does workshops in different parts of Santiago.

In her spear time, she writes fiction, fantasy and suspense novels, at the moment she has five books published. Another hobby that she has is traveling the world, this has been fundamental for her research.

Chile Awoke

Since October 18 everything has been very strange,  I still remember that Friday that I had to dance and after I finished the presentation I did not know how to go to my house. When I managed to take the bus that day I realized that people had joined more, on the bus I felt somehow the joy between people, many things have changed since it all started. I have never been very close to the neighborhood where I live but I participated in the cacerolazos near of my house, I went with my sisters I wanted them to be part of this, to see how people organized. Sometimes I went with my parents for a drive around San Bernardo Square or around our neighborhood to see what was happening. The first few weeks I slept very little because the helicopter bothered me and because I felt very distressed, I spent the whole day watching what happened, and also  I ate very little those days.
